Terms

Last updated October 13, 2026

These terms cover buying from Paper Dragon Post and using paperdragonpost.com, including your family's Apprentice Quarters page. Paper Dragon Post is a small business based in Idaho ("we," "us"). By placing an order or using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't order or use the site.

What you're buying

Each season follows a story we've planned for that world, written around the details you give us in the story form. The worlds, places, and side characters are the same for every family in a world. Your kid's name, pet, and favorite things are what make it theirs.

The letters are written and illustrated with help from AI writing and image tools. A person plans every story, reads every letter, and checks every picture before it's mailed.

Ordering and payment

You need to be 18 or older to place an order. Payments are handled by Stripe, and prices are in U.S. dollars. Sales tax is added where it applies. We currently mail to U.S. addresses only.

Delivery

The welcome packet and first letter go out within about a week of receiving your story form, or close to the start date you asked for. Later letters follow about every other week. Story choices made on your Quarters page need to come in by the date shown there to steer the next letter. If one doesn't, Flick picks and the story keeps going.

Mail times depend on the Postal Service, so delivery dates are estimates, not promises. If a letter doesn't show up within two weeks of when it should have, email us and we'll mail it again at no charge. If you move, email us the new address before the next letter goes out.

The story form

Please only share details you're comfortable having in a story, and only fill out the form if you're the child's parent or guardian or have their okay. We read the "steer clear of" answers first and take them seriously. We may leave out anything we don't think belongs in a bedtime story. We never put a child's home address or school in a letter.

Our guarantee, refunds, and cancelling

Refunds go back to the card you paid with, usually within 5 to 10 business days of our reply. To ask for one, email with the name on the order.

Gifts

If you're buying for someone else's child, please make sure their parent or guardian is happy to receive the letters and to have you share the details in the story form. The gift guarantee works the same way. Refunds go to the person who paid.

The Apprentice Quarters page

Each family gets a private page with maps, puzzles, printables, and the weekly story choice. Kids are welcome to use it with a grown-up's okay. The page's link and password keep it out of search engines and away from other families, but they aren't strong security, so the page only ever shows first names, pet names, and progress. Badges and puzzle answers are saved in your own browser. The page stays up for at least 12 months after your season ends.

Who owns what

The letters we mail are yours to keep, read, and share. Photos of them on social media make our day. We keep the copyright in the stories, worlds, characters, and artwork, and we reuse the shared parts of each world (maps, places, side characters) for other families. We never reuse your child's personal details in anyone else's story.

Please don't copy, resell, or republish the site, the letters, or the artwork for commercial purposes, or use the site to build a competing product. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we're free to use them without owing you anything.

Privacy

How we collect and use information, including the story form and your child's details, is covered in our privacy policy, which is part of these terms.

Other services

We rely on other companies to run the business, including Stripe for payments, Cloudflare for the website, and a print-and-mail partner for letters. Their own terms apply to how they handle your information, and we aren't responsible for their outages or mistakes, though we'll do our best to make things right with you.

Disclaimers and limits

The site is provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and we don't promise the site will always be available or error-free.

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us for the order the claim is about.

Some states don't allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you. Nothing here takes away rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.

Disputes

If something goes wrong, please email us first. Most problems get fixed with one reply. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho. Any dispute that we can't work out will be handled in the state or federal courts in Ada County, Idaho, and either of us can use small claims court for claims that qualify.
